How everything started<\/h2>\n\n\n\n?? It all started in Quito, Ecuador<\/a>. I was studying to be a medical doctor last year in my internship. I was looking for a vehicle to move around in this big city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

?? Nowadays, it\u2019s a great place to hang out and enjoy the historical places in the main square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

??You can enjoy museums which shows all the stages of this very historical city. The colonial art it\u2019s awesome. There are great churches with amazing details on gold and painted since the Spanish colony and after that when the \u201cmestizos\u201d learned the techniques and created art that you can\u2019t see it nowhere else in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

?? So when I was in Quito, I needed to figure out how to move around and I didn\u2019t have any car. I actually used to think that Vespa scooters were \u201clady\u2019s bikes\u201d but once I used La Balita<\/strong>, I discovered that they are great, strong and comfortable and for everybody. I ended up buying this small scooter to ride across Quito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some scooter club called El Avispero<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
?? I remember looking at some social media and I found \u201cEl Avispero Quito\u201d; a group of scooter riders and enthusiasts. I contacted them and I joined quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

?? I got accepted in this group of nice people. They teached me a lot about Vespa motorcycles; just in case La Balita<\/strong> gets broken down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I got backup<\/h3>\n\n\n\n?? I met Don Napo, a pleasant gentleman who used to repair motorcycles and scooters for decades. Since he knows them from inside out, we prepared ourselves for our first trip to Ba\u00f1os de Agua Santa<\/a>, a small village at the side of Tungurahua volcano. It was supposed out first long trip together and the first long trip of this group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
?? For sure I was very nervous about traveling in la balita, I didn\u2019t realize how strong she is, but keep going with the idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed me presentaron a Don Napo, quien es un agradable caballero algo entrado en a\u00f1os quien sol\u00eda reparar vespas durante d\u00e9cadas, y las conoce al derecho y al rev\u00e9s, con el preparamos la balita para EL VIAJE, el primer viaje largo de El Avispero, ir\u00edamos a Ba\u00f1os de agua santa, es una pintoresca ciudad que se encuentra a las faldas del volcan Tungurahua. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
First scooter trip and my new friends from El Avispero…<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
?? If I tell you that I wasn't nervous, it would be a (white) lie. It was my first trip together with La Balita<\/strong> and the guys from El Avispero club. But I haven't realized yet how strong La Balita <\/strong>actually was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
?? Decir que no estaba nervioso ser\u00eda mentira, este era nuestro primer viaje juntos, la balita y yo, los chicos del avispero y yo, es qu\u00e9, claramente, no me hab\u00eda dado cuenta de lo fuerte que era la balita.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
It starts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
?? The first day at 7am we met with another 25 scooters enthusiasts. Unfortunately, some of their motorcycles failed and they stayed in Quito. Around 20 riders actually rode out of the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

$\"\"$ We never imagined that everyone in this picture will become scooter travelers around South America.

In Good Company<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
?? One of the travelers is called Ilario Lavarra, a quite a friendly person. He marked me as an inspiration to become later a scooterist traveler. He is Italian and has travelled from Italy to North America. Nowadays, he is going to Ushuaia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

?? A couple of lovers came from Colombia in a Vespa joined this trip. They decided to ride across South America on their bike. A great company to start a trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ride to the Unknown…<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
?? The whole ride was 350 km long, passing through mountain higher than 4000m above the sea level. One place which we drove through is called Papallacta and you can find there rain, wind and fog until we got into the jungle in Baeza. in the road to El Puyo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Drastic climate changes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">?? It's a very warm place and I realized the weather changed drastically because now it was raining warm drops! It was an amazing because it is full of trees and vegetation. Very exotic place even for an Ecuadorian like me! On that day, we rode for about 18 hours with our scooters. Therefore, we were so tired and some bikes failed due the rain. Fortunately, <strong>La Balita <\/strong>kept going on every time I turned it on, without any problems, which made me quite happy about it! I felt even more secure on its tires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>??<\/strong><em>Ese d\u00eda recorrimos mas de 18 horas en nuestras vespas, est\u00e1bamos muy cansados, algunas fallaban en ocasiones por la lluvia, pero La Balita estaba perfecta y sin problemas, eso realmente me pon\u00eda muy feliz cada vez que encend\u00eda y me estaba sintiendo cada vez mas seguro en sus ruedas.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Goal from El Avispero!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">??We arrived that evening very tired. We enjoyed some drinks at night with the guys from El Avispero club and we went to sleep. Next day, there was a 250Km trip back to Quito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>??<\/strong> E<em>sa noche llegamos muy cansados, tomamos un par de bebidas con los amigos y a dormir por que el regreso al d\u00eda siguiente serian otros 250kms aproximadamente.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div The landscape was beautiful surrounded by mountains, snow-covered peaks, volcanos and now with new friends.
