In order to mantain my (little) knowledge of the turkish language, I practice (almost) every day at least 3 lessons on Duolingo<\/a>. This way, I maintain that bind with its people, its culture and the personal satisfaction of speaking a 4th language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The turkish eye or Nazar Boncu\u011fu<\/a>, protects my home from the evil eye. Although the word comes from arabic, you will find it quite everywhere in Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I should dedicate an entire post for each one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you imagine waking up every day and seeing your sacred breakfast served with olives? In Turkey, this is a tasteful reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I drink seldom Tea in my homeland. But, as a surprise to me, Tea is everywhere in Turkey. Sometimes I even got free time, just as a apreciation for foreigners. Just got 5 min to relax? Drink tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although in many countries in Middle East alcohol is not drunken, you find in some places ‘Rak\u0131' which is a strong alcoholic beverage with a similar taste to anisette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music, as audible souvenirs from Turkey<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I know, I know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But you have to admit that music from the Middle East is just AWESOME! Some songs I found out using the app Shazam<\/a>, which helped me discover music that would normally be out of my reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
